The Mass of the Holy Spirit takes place at the beginning of each academic year. This year, our President, Msgr. A. Robert Nusca, celebrated the Mass in the Seminary chapel on September 6, 2023.

Academic Dean of St. Augustine’s Seminary, Fr. John Abad’s visit to the Philippines was not merely a one-time event; it signified the beginning of a collaborative effort to expand the reach of St. Augustine’s Seminary of Toronto’s basic degree and advanced courses through online education. This innovative approach seeks to unite students and scholars worldwide regardless of geographic constraints.

The Seminary received an icon written by Sonhee Lim, wife of Deacon Vincent Seungwoo Lim, our recent Diaconate Formation Diploma in Theological Studies graduate. The icon will be officially installed on the 4th floor, adjacent to the Bessette Chapel. View more photos.

The central theme of the retreat, "Living our lives in the grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ and trusting in His Merciful Goodness," resonated deeply with the candidates. It has been two years since Fr. Christian Lindenbach was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Regina. He is now pastor of two rural Saskatchewan parishes – St. Peter in Lumsden and St. Jerome in Regina Beach – as well as an assistant to the Archbishop at the Chancery Office, Archdiocese of Regina.

Each year the Office of Vocations and the Office of Catholic Youth collaborate to hire 20 young Catholic leaders who are seriously discerning God's calling in their lives. In order to prepare for a full summer of encountering, evangelizing and catechizing, the missionaries undergo extensive training and formation at St. Augustine’s Seminary.

The Canadian Society of Patristic Studies (CSPS) promotes and contributes to the academic study of the Church Fathers in Canada. This year, the annual meeting of CSPS was held under the auspices of Congress at York University from May 28-30, 2023.

At this meeting, our Academic Dean, Fr. John Abad, was elected Vice President of the Canadian Society of Patristic Studies. Congratulations Fr. John!
