A Gift from the Ordinandi Class of 2023

An unofficial tradition at St. Augustine's Seminary is for the Ordinandi to give a gift to the Seminary in gratitude for the support they received during their formation on their journey to becoming a priest.

The giving of the gift has always been initiated by the Seminarians themselves. This year, the fourth-year class, those who are being ordained, decided to gift the Seminary covers for the side altars in the Seminary Chapel.

St. Augustine's Spiritual Director and Director of Liturgy, Fr. Eric Rodrigues, had recently mentioned to the Seminarians that the side altars in the main chapel were used in the past to celebrate Mass and, therefore, needed to be shown due reverence. The beautiful new side altar covers will help do just that.
