Augustinian Forum in the Philippines

Fr. Abad, Academic Dean of St. Augustine’s Seminary, recently participated as a guest speaker at the Augustinian Forum in the Philippines (University of San Agustin – IloIlo City). This important Forum marked a reunion of fellow theologians and a celebration of shared values. Fr. John’s visit to the Philippines was not merely a one-time event; it signified the beginning of a collaborative effort to expand the reach of St. Augustine’s Seminary of Toronto’s basic and advanced degree courses through online education. This innovative approach seeks to unite students and scholars worldwide, regardless of geographic constraints.

Fr. Frederick Comendador, OSA, the president of a rapidly growing Augustinian university in the Philippines, shared their state-of-the-art Learning Commons with Hyflex classrooms.

The Augustinian academic community welcomed Fr. Abad with open hearts, rekindling the bonds of brotherhood formed during his time as a member of the Order of St. Augustine. This reunion served as a poignant reminder of the enduring connections that faith and education can forge, transcending time and distance.
