St. Augustine’s Seminary joins in the celebration of Bishop Vincent Nguyen, a jubilarian marking 25 years since he was ordained at St. Michael’s Cathedral for the Archdiocese of Toronto. His journey and dedication continue to inspire and empower future generations of priests.

One moment stands out prominently in the history of St. Augustine’s Seminary – the ordination of Cardinal Aloysius Matthew Ambrozic and his 53 fellow seminarians in 1955, which marked the largest graduating class in the seminary's history.

If there was one piece of advice Msgr. Vid Vlasic could give to young seminarians, it would be trust in Christ. Prior to his ordination 44 years ago, Msgr Vlasic recalls wrestling with this issue during his days at St Augustine’s Seminary. Read more.

Fr. Lester John Thomas Costello (Feb. 16, 1928 – Dec. 10, 2002) was a Canadian ice hockey player, St. Augustine’s Seminary Alumnus and Catholic priest.

St. Augustine’s Alumnus Fr. James Mallon reflects on 25 years of his pastoral journey.

When Fr. Larry Marcille reflects on his time as vocations director at Serra House from 2000-2004, he can’t help but be moved by the number of men he journeyed with as they discerned their calling to the priesthood.

This fall, Msgr. Patrick O’Dea will be celebrating his 41st year as an ordained priest. Almost a full decade of that time was spent as Rector and Vocations Director at Serra House, the downtown satellite location of St. Augustine’s Seminary.

St. Augustine’s Seminary paid tribute to some of its esteemed Jubilarians during a small ceremony on March 24, 2022. It was good to have some of our alumni back after having to cancel Alumni Day events last year due to the pandemic.

Bishop Boissonneau is Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto with the responsibility for the Northern Region. He also helped set up a tuition fund through the Board of Governors to help defray costs for seminarians’ studies.

Fr. Robert Bedard - Class of 1955 - largest ordination class in the history of St. Augustine’s Seminary. He was the founder of the Companions of the Cross, a society of apostolic life in the Catholic Church, and died on October 6. He was 82.

When Msgr. John Borean was approached by the Seminary about helping design the new sanctuary, he jumped at the idea.

While studying at the University of Toronto, this chance encounter with Serra House changed everything for Fr. Martin Dicuangco.

Most Reverend Francis Anthony Marrocco entered St. Augustine's Seminary in 1932. He was ordained priest by Archbishop James C. McGuigan in St. Peter's Cathedral, Peterborough on June 12, 1938.
