Journeying with the Petitions of the Lord’s Prayer (Our Father)
On February 11, 2022, Pope Francis announced preparations for an upcoming Jubilee Year to be celebrated in 2025, with the motto ‘Pilgrims of Hope.’ In his letter to Archbishop Salvatore Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect for the Dicastery for Evangelization, for the Jubilee of 2025, he requested a preparatory year to take place in 2024, focusing on the need for prayer, especially reflection on the Lord’s Prayer: ‘In a word, may it be an intense year of prayer in which hearts are opened to receive the outpouring of God’s grace and to make the “Our Father,” the prayer Jesus taught us, the life programme of each of his disciples.
Celebrating Saint Stephen's Feast Day
On December 26th, 2023, the St. Augustine’s Seminary Permanent Diaconate formation team members and candidates were blessed by Msgr. Pat O’Dea and celebrated the Feast of Saint Stephen, Deacon, and Martyr at St. Edward the Confessor Parish in North York.
Mass of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
It is customary for new faculty members to declare a Profession of Faith and an Oath of Fidelity to the Church, and this is traditionally before the Archbishop during the Mass of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on December 8th. Photo album is now available on the website.
St. Theresa's Parish, Shrine of the Little Flower Celebrates 90th Anniversary
St. Theresa's Parish, Shrine of the Little Flower parish first held Mass upon opening their doors on December 10, 1933. The original church, with seating for 200, was built in order to serve the approximately 25 families who had been attending weekly Mass at the chapel of St. Augustine’s Seminary located just a short distance up the road. Archbishop Neil McNeil was on hand on that day in 1933 to bless the church and celebrate the first Mass.

A Vigil will take place at 6 p.m. at Saint Peter's Square, where an hour of prayer in a spirit of penance to implore peace in our time, in this world.
