The Archbishop of Toronto, the Most Rev. Francis Leo, highlights the importance of community and families in supporting those currently in formation:

“As the diaconate is a divine call to follow Jesus as Servant of his People, this vocation is likewise a gift which the Lord bestows upon the entire Church. We are grateful for the Lord’s generosity in calling so many men to serve the People of God through this ministry. We pray for all young men discerning a call as well as for vibrant parish communities who are capable and willing to welcome and to foster a culture of vocations through their witnessing and commitment to our Catholic faith.”
