Chapel Restoration: New Altar
Phase one of the chapel restoration will include installing a new, classically styled altar and tabernacle stand, complementing the Chapel’s Romanesque architecture.
Alumni Spotlight: Most Reverend Francis Anthony Marrocco
Most Reverend Francis Anthony Marrocco entered St. Augustine's Seminary in 1932. He was ordained priest by Archbishop James C. McGuigan in St. Peter's Cathedral, Peterborough on June 12, 1938.
Bishop Atilla Mikloshazy's Life Marked by Pastoral Care
Bishop Mikloshazy was part of a small corps of young Hungarian Jesuits who were welcomed at the English Canadian Jesuit novitiate in Guelph. He was ordained in 1961 but continued to study in Canada and Italy, earning a PhD in liturgical and systematic theology in 1967. He then embarked on an academic career at Regis College in Toronto. He spent a decade, from 1974 to 1984, as a professor in the faculty of theology at Toronto’s St. Michael’s College, then 15 years teaching at St. Augustine’s Seminary. The Bishop’s funeral was held on January 3, 2019. He is interred at St. Augustine’s Seminary in Toronto.
Preaching Conference at St. Augustine’s Seminary
Highlights from the 2018 Preaching Conference. Our keynote speaker, His Excellency Bishop Robert Barron, is founder of Word on Fire Ministries and host of the award-winning PBS series Catholicism. The other presenters were His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins, Fr. Peter Cameron O.P. and Fr. Jude Siciliano O.P. The conference was widely attended by deacons, diaconate candidates, seminarians, priests, bishops and some laity.

Extraordinary Ordinaries started out as a project to be released in 2017 to help Toronto Catholics celebrate the 175th anniversary of the archdiocese.
