A Gift from our Ordinandi Class of 2022

We recently installed the icons below in the foyer of our Seminary's main building. The icons are a gracious gift of the ordinandi class of 2022. They were prepared by the nuns of the Greek Orthodox Monastery of the Virgin Mary Consolatory in Brownsburg, Quebec. The icons feature the four fathers and doctors of the church who support the chair of St. Peter (in St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City), artistically rendered by Bernini. There are two Western fathers: St. Ambrose and St. Augustine of Hippo, and two Fathers from the East: St. Athanasius and St. John Chrysostom. The enshrinement of these icons at the Seminary is also part of our preparation to offer a Licentiate degree in Patristics.
