Renewals:
Your borrowed items can be renewed online by logging in your library account
LibrarySearch (utoronto.ca) and clicking on “my Loans”. Your materials can also be renewed by contacting SAS library by email or phone.
If you have an item and a hold is placed on it, you will not be able to renew it. In such cases, the item must be returned to the library.
Holds/recalls:
You can request a book, DVD, or any other items in the library to be put on hold for you by signing in to LibrarySearch (utoronto.ca). Find your needed material and request it by clicking on “Get it” When the item is ready for pick up, you will receive an email notification. You will have five business days to pick it up.
When an item is checked out to someone, you may want to place a hold on it so it will not be renewed automatically.
FINES: Overdue books or lost items
The users of the library will be charged a fee for overdue items. SAS Library follows UTL’s policy for overdue materials:
ITEM TYPE FINES
Regular books or Audio-Visual items $.50 per day, per item,
Course reserve/STL items $.50 per hour, per item,
Recalled items $2.00 per item, per day
For lost or damaged items, the library charges the replacement fee of the item + $25.00 for processing. Other libraries may have different fees.
The fines are automatically accumulated in your account and once it reaches $25.00, your account will be blocked. Failing to pay the fines or return the library items will result in withholding your transcript.
Patrons can pay all UTL bills at any University of Toronto Libraries. SAS library will accept cash payment only. Credit or debit card payments are not allowed. For online payments sign in to LibrarySearch and pay fees/fines from there.
