An Advent Retreat in collaboration with the Sheptytsky Institute. A special invitation is extended to all who work or volunteer in any kind of catechetical ministry.
Prayer is neither simply private nor is worship solely public. To remember how these pieces interlock, we need to engage the Church’s memory. We will explore early Christian commentaries on the Our Father, The Divine Liturgy, and the Sacraments of Initiation. These texts will teach us about “mystagogy” an introduction the mysteries: the sacramental and liturgical life of the church. Learning from the fathers will put us on the inside of these mysteries and equip us to give this saving knowledge away to the people we serve.
