Our Presenter: Reverend Father Edwin Gonsalves, Rector of St. Augustine's Seminary

Ordained on May 9th 1999. In 1991, I began my priestly formation at St Pius X Seminary in Mumbai, India; in 19994 immigrated to Canada with my parents and continued my priestly formation at St Augustine’s Seminary. Prior to joining the seminary in Mumbai, I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.  I worked for 5 years in the banking industry in Mumbai. Following ordination in 1999, I served at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish (4 years), St. Joseph the Worker Oshawa (2 years), Office of Catholic Youth 2005-2008. Subsequently, I was appointed Pastor of St. Barnabas Parish in Scarborough. In 2014, I was appointed Rector of St Augustine’s Seminary. It is an honor and privilege to accompany the seminarians as they seek to discern their call to the Holy Priesthood.

Presentation Description: St. John Paul wrote in Familiaris Consortio, "St. Joseph was a just man, a tireless worker, the upright guardian of those entrusted to his care." As we celebrate the Year of St. Joseph, we will reflect on his life as a man of strong moral character, contemplation, and action. In difficult and challenging times, he teaches us how to humbly surrender to Divine Providence. Join us as we reflect on St. Joseph's life, which serves as a model for all men today.
